WHAT STARTED CALVARY FELLOWSHIP FAYE?

Calvary Fellowship Faye started as a true act of the Holy Spirit. Born and raised in Southern California, Pastor Ryan worked as a teacher and was serving in a small church, which lead him to full-time ministry. He had a continual thought that never left his mind, “Called to plant a church”. With that thought came a lot of questions and a lot of prayer.

”How Lord? When and where?” Most importantly, “Why me? There are so many others and I am so young.” These questions would be answered in time as the Lord continued to mature and prepare Ryan.

Through the years, Ryan prayed and asked the Lord to equip him and his wife with the tools and mindset necessary to carry out their calling. Having a Calvary Chapel background, Ryan sought wisdom and guidance from local Calvary Chapels. By the Lord’s will and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Ryan found himself connecting with Pastors from Calvary Chapel Chino Valley, Calvary Chapel Monrovia, and Calvary Chapel Golden Springs. He was lead to be a part of the Wednesday night congregation of Calvary Chapel Monrovia under Pastor Richard. Ryan gained great friends and mentors in many of the pastors from these churches. While working in full-time ministry he was invited to a local high school to teach the Word at their weekly Christian Club. Through this ministry, he was invited to attend the School of Ministry at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs and take ministry courses through their Bible College. The School of Ministry taught Calvary Chapel Distinctives, How to Pastor, and How to Plant a Church. It was evident that the Lord was equipping Ryan and his wife with the necessary tools, resources, hearts, mindset and eventually finances to do such a work. However, the “when and where” was still at question. This brings us to September 2023. Ryan and his family flew out to Fayetteville, Tennessee in response to an invitation from family. Falling in love with the state and the people, and recognizing a great need for expository teaching, Ryan and Maiya were filled with peace and the overwhelming desire to reach the community of Fayetteville.

On March 13th, 2024 Calvary Chapel Monrovia prayed over Ryan and his family and sent them off with blessings and prayer. Just two days later, they got into the car and drove from Southern California to Fayetteville, TN to serve the Lord and the community. Thus answering God’s call and beginning the home Bible study and the church plant that is Calvary Fellowship Faye.
