In 1965, Pastor Chuck Smith began leading Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with just 25 members. From the start, his heart was open to everyone—young and old alike—focusing on teaching the Bible clearly and faithfully. His straightforward, Scripture-centered style soon began drawing thousands, and the church grew to welcome around 25,000 people each week.

Pastor Chuck had a genuine love for those who were lost and searching. He opened both his home and his heart to a generation of hippies and surfers, which helped spark a powerful move of the Holy Spirit. What started on the West Coast quickly spread across the country and eventually reached around the globe. Today, that small church has become part of a worldwide network with over 1,800 affiliated fellowships, of which Calvary Fellowship Faye is apart of.
